Bean's and Adventures

Welcome back guys, I hope everyone is doing AMAZING!!!

Today I am going to take you on the adventure of how we found the perfect coffee beans for the perfectly roasted coffee’s that everyone may drink when they visit us…

Firstly, a bit of background on how Sweet Beans Café was founded. For many years the café owner and investors has worked in management and restaurants so in the last 2 years the plans have begun and done some research. The owner Zak then started to put together plans and started writing down some of the ideas, locations, and menus for the Café.

The ideas started to come together we wanted a modern look for our store, so we started searching for the best locations and visited many places including Newtownards, Bangor, Lisburn but in Belfast we settled. We found a big enough store that we could renovate and have that modern look. We made sure this store was in a busy area were its easily accessible. This area was the Stranmillis Road. This area is very well populated not just with locals but also with many student accommodations. Students who will visit us before and after University as Belfast Queen’s University is just down the road from us.

We now have found the location so next up was the menu. We went travelling to find the best possible coffee. We visited many different coffee shops all over Europe. Some of the locations we went and visited included the following: - Turkey, Saudi Arabia, England (Manchester and London), Hungary, Egypt, one of our favourites we visited was Italy we went to “Pave” which is in Milan. It is supposedly one of the most elegant cafés in Italy. This is where we found one of the best tasting coffees in this exact restaurant. We took a picture of the coffee bag to find their brand and we did.

Finally, after looking around on google, we found them and contacted them about our coffee company and how we are interested in using their coffee beans. We agreed on a couple of things and got a few samples sent over and everything was great and ready to go.

As in everything you will run into complications and our first complication after finding the perfect beans were that we couldn’t use them as the coffee beans didn’t suit our coffee grinder and extractor. So due to this implication we went searching for companies making custom beans. In Northern Ireland, Bangor we found 38 Espressos who we contacted then went and seen. There they made us custom coffee beans with different flavouring when extracted. The coffee drinkers know that they all taste different.

I Patrik, the owner Zak, and 3 of the investors travelled to Bangor to try the different coffee’s as we all love coffee. We loved the taste of one specific one which had been the mix of Columbian, Brazilian and Nicaragua which had hints of vanilla and chocolate in it which caught all our taste buds. We agreed all the contracts and supplying information including one of the terms being that this type of coffee beans is going to be unique to ONLY Sweet Beans Café. This means this taste will not be anywhere else but our shop.

We are unique in most aspects of a café and always striving to be better than the rest. We are now making contacts to be on Just Eat so keep an eye out!
